Divorce is difficult at the ‘best’ of times. Even when a couple makes a combined decision to divorce, it can be extremely trying.
What happens if the decision is one sided? What happens to the party who can sometimes feel blind-sided by one person’s decision that they no longer want to be a part of this union?
Been there, done that. Only I wasn’t the one who made the decision to leave the relationship. It was my ex-husband’s decision. Okay, I helped him make the actual decision to leave (he didn’t have much choice), but the result was the same. Feelings of “what’s wrong with me?” are abundant.
So here are some things that will help you to get your self esteem back after a divorce:
1. Talk to someone.
The first step to resolving those feelings is to talk to someone. Bend a familiar ear…be it biased or unbiased. Whether it’s to a trusted friend, or to a counselor, getting it out verbally is a great start to regaining your sense of self.
2. Be Honest.
If you decide that you’re going to seek help from a counselor, make sure that you tell the entire truth about what you’re feeling. Be as honest as you possibly can. How can a counselor do his/her job properly, if you’re not completely honest?
Regardless of what you tell a counselor, he/she is not there to judge you, merely to listen and to offer some constructive unbiased advice if necessar. Not criticism, just advice.
3. Keep a Journal.
Writing down what’s going on in your head is also helpful, weather you choose to do that via paper journal, or online journal, both are helpful. I find that using an online journal is much easier, as I don’t write nearly as quickly as I type.
4. Get to know yourself again.
It’s typical to lose oneself during the course of a relationship. I know I did! So after my divorce, I took some time to get to know “Me” all over again. Do whatever it is that you love to do! If you enjoyed snowboarding before you were married, get back to it! If you enjoyed knitting, put aside some time to do that. Read some good books, enjoy spending time with new friends, go away for the weekend, go and be you!
5. Don’t let those negative feelings back in.
Once you’ve written down feelings that aren’t positive (“I hate him/her. I can’t believe that he/she did this to me.”) in a journal of some type, you’ll notice that if you go back and re-read those bad feelings (and we all do it at least once), you’re mentally and emotionally back in that place all over again. Re-reading the ugly details of my divorce for instance, used to put me in that mood all over again (I’ve since tossed that journal). So my advice with regard to writing down negative feelings, is to write them down, then discard them. Tear them up, burn them, whatever it takes, but don’t let those negative thoughts back in.
6. Meet some new people.
When couples divorce, there may be a feeling amongst some of the friends of that couple who feel as though there is a need to take sides. You may find that you will need to meet new people, and take a step back from that even for a short time. Get yourself some friends that you and your ex don’t have in common. My ex and I used to work in the same industry, and as a result, we shared a lot of the same business colleagues. So as soon as our relationship ended, I started my own business doing something that wasn’t related in any way, shape or form to what he does for a living. I feel like a zillion bucks .
7. Find new interests.
The next step to rebuilding your sense of self-esteem would be to find some new interests. Find something that makes you feel good/better about yourself. Kickboxing. Kickboxing is an amazing way to get rid of certain frustrations, AND introduces you to a new sport (I brought a picture of my ex to my kickboxing class, and taped it to the heavy bag.). If you enjoy being outdoors, you might consider joining a running club, a rowing club, or anything else that allows you to be outdoors while meeting new people.
8. Make peace with yourself.
Understand that what happened, for whatever reason that it happened, is done. Over. Let it go. Move on. Whatever kind of bitterness that may have existed when he/she left, is going to have to get lost or it will get in the way of your true progress. I know. I did it. Get past it. How do you ‘get past it’? By doing these nine steps.
9. Accept the fact that things happen.
No doubt about it. Bad things happen to good people, and vice versa. Stuff happens more often than it doesn’t. Nothing we can do about it. Can’t control it. Can’t keep it from happening. Accept it. You’ll feel better for it.

A single-parent rose from obscurity in 8 years to become today the greatest woman celebrity, the richest woman (even richer than Her Majesty, the Queen of England) in the U.K, all through the power of imagination expressed through the power of her fingers!! She held the world spell-bound (270 million copies of her books sold so far).
Publishers, Film-makers, Agents, musical artists, youngsters and parents are all feeding from her fingers. The stocks of publishing companies rose in obedeience to her graceful fingers. A treasure, dug out of the obscure cafes of Edinburg! A pen of destiny, buried under a series of personal misfortunes, wrote and waited for seven years, before discovery.
I am talking of the one, and only creator of the ‘Harry’ that smashed every available ‘Potter’s’ vessels. I mean the one who broke the global box office records- Ms. J.K. Rowling, who conquered and arrested world attention in order to teach the the world the greatest lesson of all times i.e: ‘THE MEEK SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH’. Fame sought her and refused to fade! Grace lifted her from shame and refused to be erased!! Stigma saw her, got unstuck, and took flight after her wedding in 2001!!!
Can a person be enthroned but refuse to reign? All hail ‘Mummy Jessy’, the sceptre of thy kingdom is the sceptre of HUMILITY, and unto thee shall all thy people bow! I have long ago, in my literary race, learnt to line-up with the Father of creativity- GOD ALMIGHTY, I line up with the creator of your resillient virtues!
What others, in her position, would rather relish and rollick in, is what our sister found great displeasure in. The harder she sought anonymity, the greater she gained celebrity status and fame. Hear out her ‘heart-kicks’: “one of my regrets would be that I will never again have the pleasure of sneeking into a cafe, any cafe I like, sitting down and diving into my world, and no one knowing what I am doing, and no one bothering about me, and being totally anonymous, that fantastic”
You don’t sell 270 million copies of 5 books, interpreted into 62 languages, including Chinese, and not expect your craving for anonymity to be torn to shreds!
Talking of records; never in publishing history has the first print run of a book amassed up to 10.8 million copies. Never also, in publishing history has 9 million copies of a book (I mean, her latest and 6th serial) been sold on the first day of its release!
The movies from her first three books havs grossed in over $2.6 Billion Dollars. In fact this terrific author, having no other records to break, behaved true to type – begun like the skillful ‘Potter’ that she is, to smash her own ‘pots’ to pieces, for better vessel than she had ever created.
‘Pottermania’ has entered into the lexicon of the of the entertainment industry. The multi-million Dollar licensing deals for Harry Potter products testified to this. Films, stamps, cauldren, glasses, wands, caps, cotumes, musical albums… all give trademark endorsements of the terrific imagery conjured from the mind of this humble genius called J.K. Rowling.
To the skeptics who speculate the death of the Harry Potter brand in the next 3 to 4 years, I have this to say: half a century to come this classic would still occupy a prime place on bookshelves and bookstores. To imagine the death of her works is akin to speculating the death of CREATIVITY. God will spare her of their evil imagination.

As your Internet business grows, your free time will dwindle. Site changes will become time consuming and stressful. Automate your site and you can use your time for better purposes.
Automating
Automating a web site can cut out tedious tasks such as updating HTML, FTPing pages and changing site designs. Advanced automated web sites can send follow-up emails, send out newsletters, manage sales, do invoicing, track users visits and more. There is practically no function that can’t be accomplished.
There are many different types of automated web sites. Typically, the platforms break down into two categories, prepackaged or made to order. Automated web sites can range in complexity from simply using server side includes to full database driven sites. Server side includes are little snippets of code that allow content from one file to show on many pages. A database driven site, on the other hand, pulls content from an online database.
Web site information stored in an online database can be quickly and seamlessly inserted into many different types of templates. This becomes a huge time saver when you need to make a universal change to a web site. Depending on the system, the change can be made as a snippet of code or input directly into the database. Once entered, the regenerated site will carry the changes throughout the pages. In contrast, a non-automated site would require you to make changes to each individual page, a time wasting task. Let’s look at any example.
Assume you have a database driven, automated site. After testing the site, you discover the font appears very small in certain common monitor settings. Making an executive decision, you decide to change it throughout the site. With a manual system, you must pull up each page file for the site and change the html. If your site has 100 pages, you better break out the coffee! If your site is automated, however, you can simply address the font change in the database ONE TIME and generate the changes on all the pages. We are talking about saving days of your time.
If you are creating a site, make sure you use an automated platform. Don’t waste days of your life making manual changes.

Foresight is a tool we should all have in our war chests. However, many of us disregard this critical thought process. If I drink this much and drive my car, I just might crash, killing myself or someone else. If I talk about my boss behind his back to the wrong person, I could get fired for some trivial reason.
Almost everyone knows the difference between right and wrong, but do we all apply thinking with consequential logic before committing our wrongs? Probably not. The reasons are plenty, but simply put, many of us are too lazy or careless.
If it is lazy, that can be more easily fixed than that of careless. Lazy is just that, lazy. Working a little extra hard by churning the brain with logic before minor or major decisions creates a more seamless living environment for not only yourself, but everyone around you.
Careless is more difficult to fix because the person is caring less about something that requires someone to yield more care. This is a fundamental disregard for the situation or an inadequate comprehension of the dynamics of that particular situation or decision.
Usually people other than yourself are involved, assuming you have careless tendencies. Let me clarify with an example: You are on a roof reshingling with a working partner, but you are a level below him/her and this person would like to get down to your level. They ask if you could set the step ladder up so they can get down, so you do. By not holding the ladder tightly as the person descends, they fall and die.
This is a blatant example of disregarding someone else’s safety by not caring enough. It could also be construed as lazy; however, in this situation it is more likely that carelessness trumps laziness big time.
In this hypothetical example, if this person thinks with consequential logic, they would know that leaving the ladder unsecured while this person is stepping down could have deadly consequences.
This mindset should be on automatic pilot all the time. However, many people think their logic is fine when they pass another car when climbing a hill. Their thinking is it shouldn’t matter because it’s a new V6. This is skewed thinking because logically you should, under any circumstances, never attempt this maneuver. However, putting too much hope and faith into something and thinking that everything will be just fine is always asking for trouble.
When thinking under a more controlled mindset, logic will prevail and instead of always wearing the rosy glasses hoping everything will turn out fine, you will have assurance knowing certain variables need to add up before a decision is made.
If this mindset is not taken seriously, problems, trouble, and dysfunction in relationships and employment will more than likely always follow.
Taking the extra time to pause and let the brain logically process any given scenario without obscuring its reality, can only benefit any perspective person. Life will consistently throw curve balls at you, but using consequential logic when critical thinking or not, makes for a better life.

It’s taken you 6-months of hard work, constant changes, reading every shred of information on search engine optimization strategy not to mention thousands of dollars trying out web optimization tools and services.
Finally, you have a page rank of 5, you are listed in the top 10 on your major keywords, and you are seeing the benefit – some decent traffic from Google and other search engines.
Then, as quickly as your search engine optimization strategy begines working, it suddenly, and without notice, disappears!
You frantically look for evidence of dropped links, pages not working, it HAS to be something you’ve done!
Well, the truth is, it may not have been anything you did – turns out Google updates their algorithms every few months in an attempt to improve it’s search engine optimization strategy.
In fact, Google has shown that they are not afraid to make major changes impacting tens of thousands of sites, businesses and corresponding sales and profits.
Even more concerning, everything points to the fact they will continue to make changes.
So what can you do to protect your search engine optimization strategy and the resulting traffic critical to the success of your online marketing?
There are some things you can do.
1. BUILD CONTENT WITH REAL, RELEVANT VALUE
Do you develop content just for search engines or just for your visitors and customers?
The answer is both.
Truth is, your customers search for information based on keywords. Use tools like Wordtracker (http://www.highertrustmarketing.com/part/wordtracker) to find those keywords.
Plan your articles around answering questions associated with each keyword. Over time, you will build highly relevant content that will be irrisistable to the search engines – no matter how they change them.
2. LINK FOR QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY
One single link with a Pagerank (Google’s term for ranking sites) of 5 is worth 10 or more sites with a Pagerank of 3.
In addtion, as an important part of your search engine optimization strategy, make sure your links include a brief description (a URL only inbound link may be ignored), includes important keyword and appears on a relevant partner site.
Avoid FFA’s and most link farms, they may actually do you more harm than good.
3. AVOID KNOWN MISTAKES
Common mistakes people make with their search engine optimization strategy are:
- Cross linking unrelated sites, recent discussion with master Affiliate Marketing pro James Martell recently brought this issue to light
- Submitting to link farms, in many cases this will eventually get your site penalized or even banned from the SE’s
- Duplicate content. Many people feel the need to duplicate their pages and make small changes for each search engine (also called doorway pages) – however if this is not done properly, you will get penalized
- Trying to load your content with too many keywords. Focus on 1-3 keywords only
4. USE GOOGLE ADS
While still unproven, it certainly has been found by many in the search engine watch community that sites who use Google Adwords or Google Adsense tend to appear higher in listings.
5. VARY YOUR TRAFFIC GENERATION TECHNIQUES
Too many people rely on Google traffic for 99% of their traffic. It’s true, search engine traffic is the most economical way to advertise online, but there are many other ways to vary your traffic generation strategy.
Add these traffic generation techniques to your search engine optimization strategy:
- Writing articles
- Running affiliate program
- Joint Ventures
- Viral “sticky” tools
- Press Releases
Yes – you need to dance with Google. By following these techniques, you can actually lead your traffic generation strategy rather than follow the Google dance.

Getting Older
These are the views of one person. One and the same person. The only difference is the change of views as the person gets older.
Before I leave school – Old people are smelly and wee the floor at old peoples homes. They are always grumpy and tell you off a lot
Age 21 -35 – Old people are a bloody nuisance. They are so slow and keep getting in the way. These old people stand in the queue at Tesco’s and actually count out the pounds and pennies to the exact amount of the shopping bill. They don’t carry credit cards and they are too tight to use their mobile phones which are normally cast offs from their kids which are clunky and analogue with a battery life of 3 hours.
Age 35 – 45 I don’t mind old people that much. I have started gettting grey hairs and have become worried about my pension in retirement. My kids are nearly grown up now and I wonder what nursing home they will put me in when I get older?
Age 45 – 65 Things are not the same as before. There is no respect for the elderly. Elderly people have to put up with young whipper snappers giving them verbal abuse and there is no common courtesy any longer. The government do not support elderly people properly. Elderly people are not appreciated.
65 – 75 Having retired I am so glad to be out of the rat race. I worry if I will have enough money to live on and whether my children’s visits will continue to get less and less frequent. I wonder what happens when my limbs fail to carry me any longer and which nursing home I will end up in before I die. I am most worried about my frailty and crime. I worry about being vulnerable to criminals and I think the world is going in the wrong direction. No one cares about the elderly – except the elderly.
People’s views do change the older they get and the closer they get to death. However, perhaps the biggest worry for anyone around the 35-55 year age should be the lack of pension provision they are likely to receive in retirement unless of course they have made other plans. Things are going to get much worse for pensioners – not better!
Anyone younger than 35? Hey, you still have a chance to do something about it…

Top Trainers share their secrets to getting slim, toned and strong in record time. It guarantees that you will see results in no time.
1. Tone up on the Treadmill.
Save time at the gym or even at home, with this 10 minute cardio/sculpt session. Hop on a treadmill holding a three to five pound treadmill in each hand, and set the speed to a brisk walk. It’s a great upper body workout and gets your rear going. do this two or 3 times a week. As you improve work up to four-minute sets.
2. Power up your runs.
Add wall sits to the end of every run that will buid up and strengthen your quads, hams and glutes. It will also improve your speed and endurance. Lean against a wall untill your knees are bent at 45 degrees. Hold for 30 to 60 seconds: Work up to doing 10 sets. Challenge yourself by adding heel raises. Life your left heel and then the right, then lift both at once.
3. Chart your progress.
Continue to motivate yourself by using something to measure your progress by. Write down: Flexibility, cardio and weights. Set goals for each of these and them grade yourself.Do this atleast 5-6 times a year to see where you are in your goals. You will see improvement!
4. All-in-one Toner.

Bend your arms up so that the ball is at eye level over your right shoulder. As you bring the balls towards your left knee, step out with your left leg straight. Return to the starting position. Do 10-15 reps and repeat on the other leg.
5. Break oout the snow shovel.
If you are lucky enough to have snow, don’t pay someone to shovel it for you. Get to work yourself. Shoveling snow not only burns 400 calories per hour, Shoveling snow develops muscular endurance and power. One of the best cardio workouts is jump-rope. Doing the following you will burn about 26 calories a minute. Do a basic jump for 5 minutes and then jump twice as high and turn the ropes twice as fast so it passes under your feet twice before you land. This takes timing and patience. You will get in shape just by working at it.
8. You cannot be perfect.
You don’t have to be perfect to get results. Follow the 80/20 plan. 80 percent of the time eat well and exercise regulary. For the remaining 20, let yourself eat at holidays or lunch with friends. If you think it is all or nothing you are less likely to stick with it.
9. Make over your running routine.
Unless you’re training for a marathon, skip long, slow distance running. Sprinting builds more muscle. Add a few 10 to 60 second sprint to your run. Slow down just long enough to catch your breath then do it again.
10. Don’t eliminate carbs.
Your body needs them for energy. If you need added energy for a workout, eat some carbs about an hour before. Your best bets are low fat cheese with crackers, trail mix, or a half a PB&J sandwich.

Adolescent anger management is becoming more prominent in our society. Traditionally, children who enter this last acute phase of bodily and mental development can go through some rough times. As kids enter their preteen and then their teenage years, chaos can ensue at times for everyone involved. A child or young adult may feel that his or her body and mind are out of control occasionally, and the parents and teachers who supervise children at this age may tend to agree. Anger can spring out of nowhere to challenge innocent requests and reasonable expectations. Yet kids between the age of twelve and sixteen sometimes react in unpredictable ways, surprising those around them and even themselves and requiring the intervention of adolescent anger management strategies.
Today’s teens face even greater pressures than those of the past. By age eighteen, most have witnessed thousands of murders on television and video games. Some are involved in violent or illegal gang activity. Others come from broken homes where domestic violence and substance abuse are the norm. By the time they start going through puberty, their entire existence may seem out of their control, and they may grow increasingly enraged, acting out their anger in antisocial ways that require adolescent anger management.
Adolescent Anger Management and Juvenile Delinquents
Sadly, many teens experience frustrations that drive them to vent anger toward people or things, breaking civil laws. This type of behavior often leads to incarceration, or at the very least, intervention by parents, teachers, law enforcement officials, and juvenile experts who attempt to train children how to respond in age-appropriate ways. Adolescent anger management programs teach kids individually or in peer groups how to identify negative feelings, work through them in the right kind of ways, seek help when needed, and practice more mature behaviors.
During periods of time spent at juvenile detention centers, teens involved in adolescent anger management programs can learn how to improve their behavior in socially acceptable ways. Therapists can help to point out alternative attitudes and behaviors to teens who have never seen positive responses to everyday irritations modeled for them by responsible adults. They may be able to learn directly from the therapist how to manage difficult feelings, and they can read resource materials or visit websites like anger-management-information.com (site is not complete yet) for more information about this condition, and how to address it. They will find others like themselves who are learning how to get along with people and accept the situations that cannot be changed.
Community Adolescent Anger Management Programs
If you have or work with a teenager that is struggling with angry outbursts and a poor attitude, get in touch with a teacher or psychologist at your child’s school or a community social services organization that can direct you to self-help resources or a local adolescent anger management group that might be willing to admit your child. Letting unresolved anger fester or continue to be displayed in dangerous ways can lead to serious consequences. Get your teen the help that is needed for coping with this behavioral disorder.

If General Motors were to file bankruptcy, it could change the world or would it? Yes a GM bankruptcy filing would change the world. Right now with all the over regulation it is amazing that any company can make money these days. I guarantee such a move would change the world. It would definitely wake up the Unions and the governments over regulation on our economic engine. In fact sometimes it seems we do everything to hold down our economy from screaming forward.
With all the over regulations in this country to start, grow and run a successful small business, medium size corporation or a multi-national conglomerate based in the US. Why do we attack and use regulations to slow down our economic might? Because folks it is the way it is deliberately set up. You see at every level we have placed rules and bureaucracy to slow ourselves.
The largest corporations in the World are constantly being bombarded by rules and regulations put in place by regulators and politicians. So they are forced to move the operations out of the country to reduce costs, raise prices and pay off all the politicians you can find, no matter what side, fund them, as you will need them just to do business in this nation.
It is interesting the talk now after the 3rd quarter loss at General Motors and how they may sell off GMAC. Right now with the housing boom getting ready to pull back and some over extended upside down foreclosures due to job losses in the downturn of the business cycle, that might not be a bad idea actually. It seems GMAC is going to have its own issues.
The Delphi Bankruptcy deal is a problem indeed, I too worry about the under funded pension costs and these out of control health care costs, as for a company like GM these are problematic issues to say the least. It is good that the Union has been cutting a little slack at GM these days. Ford is next and lay offs there will be big indeed.
Indeed a bankruptcy at GM would change the world, but why do we need such a strong signal as a wake up call when it is obvious that we need to fix the problems that are right their in front of us. We all should be thinking here, as all of this effects us one way or another and China is not getting any smaller so we better get on the stick and take care of business in real time. Think on this.

How old is your mortgage? If you took out your mortgage more than a couple of years ago, it may be a good idea to consider refinancing the loan. As house prices continue to rise you may be able to get a considerably better rate. Your mortgage rate will depend on many factors such as the value of your home, your income, your credit score and prevailing interest rates in the economy in general.
The fact is that many of these factors will have changed for most people since they took out their mortgage. Across the country, house prices have continued to rise at a good rate. Almost everyone’s house is worth more today than it was when he or she bought it. Add to this the fact that your income may have increased significantly in the last couple of years. It’s not something that’s guaranteed for anyone, but if your income has increased significantly over the last couple of years, then that may be something that would affect the terms of a mortgage. If you’ve been on time with loan and other credit repayments, have had a steady job and been living in the same address for quite a while, your credit score will also be getting better and better. And the biggest factor of all, prevailing interest rates, will work in favour of many people.
Rates
If you have a variable rate mortgage, then it will fluctuate up and down with interest rates. However, if your interest rate is fixed, it could well be the rate it was fixed at was higher than the rates available today. Current interest rates are still very good, and there are a lot of mortgages out there that were fixed at rates significantly higher than those lenders are selling at the moment.
If some of these factors sound familiar to you and your situation, you may want to consider refinancing your home. What this basically means is taking out a new mortgage at more preferable terms and using it to repay the old mortgage. There will be fees involved. The re-financer will charge you a fee for arranging the loan, and there may be early repayment fees on your existing mortgage so you will wish to check these out before you proceed. However, the savings can be far greater than such fees. Many people can get well over a full percentage point off their mortgage and the savings this can result in can be hundreds of dollars a month. The fees for refinancing can be paid off with just a couple of month’s savings. Then all you’re left with is a lower mortgage repayment. It’s definitely something worth considering.
